Abbey Reviews, 7-21-98: What did Jesus do from age 12 to age 33, when the biblical record of his adult life begins? This book answers the question. According to four reputable witnesses texts exist in Tibet describing 'Saint Issa's' journey to the East as a teenager, his sojourn in India and Tibet, and his words preached to the multitudes there. The words of these manuscripts are presented and indicate: 1. That 'Issa' was Jesus from correspondence to biblical accounts of his life, 2. That he was engaging in the practices of Eastern religions, 3. He had a great respect for the teachers of the East, and 4. That he had a great respect for women. The text records that when someone pushed aside an old woman in a crowd listening to him preach, Jesus said 'Whosoever respecteth not his mother, the most sacred being after God, is unworthy of the name of son... Respect woman, for she is the mother of the universe, and all the truth of divine creation lies in her.'

The lucid description of each of the journeys of the four witnesses engages the reader in an epic adventure. The writing is straightforward and moving, and Mrs. Prophet stimulates the reader in an open-minded search for the truth. This book is highly recommended for those who want to know the real Jesus, and indicates he is more ecumenical than conservative Christianity would lead us to believe.
